At The Health Center for Integrative Medicine, we see patients of all ages, from the newborn to the elderly. This also includes gynecologic care from the adolescent to the mature woman. We provide comprehensive family practice in a compassionate, communicative, and supportive environment and treat all Family Practice issues. Some examples of this include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, anxiety, depression, diabetes, heart disease, thyroid issues, PCOS, hormonal issues, women’s health issues, allergies, sinusitis, headaches, neurologic issues, strokes, musculoskeletal issues, gastrointestinal issues (IBS, Crohns, colitis), and autoimmune issues.
We collaborate care with specific specialists that you may see and use integrative methods of treatments within our own office as well. This may include adding acupuncture, vitamin or herbal supplements, discussing very specific diets, physical activity, or lifestyle changes and may include referring a patient for massage, aromatherapy (both done in our office), counseling, physical therapy or chiropractic therapy. Integrative medicine involves using the best possible treatments from both complementary or alternative medicine and allopathic or conventional medicine based on each patient’s individual needs and conditions.
In addition to all physicals (medicare, annual, sports, employee) and pap smears, we do some minor dermatologic procedures and give all appropriate vaccines (flu shots, boostrix/Tdap, shingles, pneumonia, and all children’s immunizations). In fact, we do follow the guidelines and standards established by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatricians regarding the immunization of children. An alternative schedule can be discussed, but we feel that immunizing children is important.
At The Health Center for Integrative Medicine, we believe in the holistic model of health that takes into consideration the mind, body, emotions, and spirit of each patient. We strive to give you Patient-oriented and relationship-centered care and will do our best to facilitate self-healing by empowering you to best take care of yourself. We feel this dynamic process defines truly the art of medicine.
